The purpose of rubrics is to provide guidance to students for better learning. Rubrics can be classified as a summative and formative assessment tool. This tool demonstrates clear expectations for the students by providing a summary prior to the completion of the assignment.  Rubrics discriminate distinct levels between acceptable and exceptional performances. The tool guides understanding and performance using numerous measures. Rubric systems support our Christian ethic of care by. Demonstrate a Christian ethic of care toward self by exhibiting a biblical approach to life that is demonstrated by a passion for learning.
